Our volunteers bring an accumulation of skills and knowledge to IMEC, and their generous donation of time, effort, and expertise allow us to carry out all aspects of our mission.
It takes over 175 volunteers to complete each project. IMEC volunteers are at the core of our work: Among other important jobs, they build IMEC Suites, coordinate projects, source materials and donations and travel to our project sites to do assessments.
Our volunteers come from many different places. Some work with IMEC through corporate and large group volunteer programs, while many others are individuals who share a desire to serve the poor and help the planet.
Large Group Volunteering
Our large group Volunteer Program welcomes student groups from Boston-area universities, corporate professionals from a wide variety of industries, and faith-based groups who come together for service days. Large group volunteer sessions provide a fun team-building activity while accomplishing important humanitarian work.
Individual Volunteering
Here at IMEC the opportunity to be a part of our team is an experience unlike most. They find gratification in our daily work which entails the privilege of enriching the lives of others. We are looking for individuals to join our team who are positive, motivated, and work well independently. By committing ongoing support through several volunteer opportunities you can become a vital asset to the lives we touch around the world.

Interns
Internships at IMEC are unique and comprehensive, and we view our interns as a vital part of our organization. We offer internships to students at all levels-whether they are pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD. Our interns come from a variety of majors from universities throughout Massachusetts.
